a story of a city, New York City

It’s a story of the city of cities, it’s a story of New York City. Enjoy, and dream your dreams with this ‘A Year in New York’.

NY, just wait, we’ll meet – one day 🙂

I need – something good.

I don’t really know why, but I love this song by singer-songwriter Maverick Sabre.

fila. ♥ ‘I need’

a glance, full of elegance

Came across this beautiful picture of a short haired girl today. There’s such an elegance in this picture – the clean haircut, the way she holds her fingers and her eyes, capturing your attention from your first glance at the photo.

Later did I realize that this picture was in honor of Vidal Sassoon, an English hairdresser who created these geometric, Bauhaus inspired haircuts. He was told “to have changed the world with a pair of scissors”.

Pantone pleasures

fila, scrolling down the world wide web for some intriguing, beautiful or just wicked (yes, it’s a synonym for cool) lifestyle stories, drinking her morning cup of tea out of a Pantone mug – “it’s not red, it’s Pantone 186” – when suddenly another, far more exciting, Pantone story catches her attention.

Just as inspired by the Pantone colors as filakuku. the online magazine Trendland joins forces with photographer Alison Anselot every week, shooting Pantone-colored food dishes.

“I’ll have the Safran risotto – Pantone 101 C -, followed by the Raspberry cheesecake – Pantone 1895 c – for dessert please.”

Oh, and guess what they added today?

That’s right, a delish looking strawberry tart in Pantone 186

                                                                       – must be a sign of God.

you are an explorer.

truly, white beauty

because white feels endless to me,
because I, despite of many others, don’t experience white as a cold color
– don’t we all wear it in summertime?,
because it gives you a blank canvas to show off all of your goodies,
because the mixing and layering of textures and tones give the most beautiful contrast when done with white garments,
because a woman in white looks like a goddess,
and perhaps, most of all, because white gives peace to the mind.

filakuku. presents a – very – small compilation of white beauties.
